English Proficiency Test Models
- EPT (English Proficiency Test) models
Taking EPT models will help to open doors to internal education and employment all over the world. Moreover, candidates with high scores are particularly sought after by universities and employers in English-speaking countries.
EPT models are guaranteed to show your true ability to communicate in English across all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking in a way that is relevant to the real world.
EPT models offer a choice of two versions:
- AEPT (Academic English Proficiency Test): AEPT is the test for those who wish to assess and prove their English skills for applying for jobs, scholarships or entry to undergraduate or postgraduate studies both locally and internationally.
- WEPT (Workplace English Proficiency Test). WEPT provides an accurate assessment of workplace English Proficiency. WEPT helps companies assess the Business English level of staff for international mobility, measure the effectiveness of English training sessions, recruit and promote employees.
The test has four components:
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Speaking
- PET (Preliminary English Test) model
The second-level Cambridge ESOL exam, at Level B1. PET models are a valuable qualification if you want to work or study abroad or to develop a career in international business.
PET models cover the four main language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking, using material from real life situations. They develop practical skills, which will be of use in clerical, secretarial and managerial jobs, and in many industries, such as tourism, where for contact with English speakers is required.
The test has four components:
- Reading & Writing: 90 minutes (8 parts, 43 items)
- Listening : 35 minutes (4 parts, 25 items)
- Speaking : up to 10 minutes (an interview)
- KET (Key English Test) model
The first-level Cambridge ESOL exam, at Level A2 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
KET models show that you can cope with everyday written and spoken communications at a basic level. KET models are an excellent first step, helping you to build your confidence in English and measure your progress. KET models use language from real life situations and covers the four language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking. They provides an assessment of practical skills, and will help you to learn the English you will need for travelling, as well as in study and work situations.
The test has four components:
- Reading&Writing: 70 minutes (9 parts, 56 items)
- Listening : 30 minutes (5 parts, 25 items)
- Speaking : 8-10 minutes
